Population statistics of the cultural associations and district offices of the Reichsvereinigung der Juden in Germany
The monthly statistics on the development of the population within the cultic associations and district offices, which were compiled by the Statistical Department of the Reichsvereinigung between July 1940 and April 1943, are among the most important documents for a statistical survey of the “final solution of the Jewish question” in Germany. These unique statements provide a detailed, documentary-assured, numerical overview of the decline of the Jewish population in Germany through emigration, death and deportation. It can be assumed that the Reichsvereinigung is the primary source of deportation figures due to its extensive administrative apparatus and the accurate reporting required by the Gestapo, so that the data are likely to be very close to reality.
Of the total 34 monthly statistics, 29 are reproduced as copies. To complete the gathering of missing data/ reports (August 1940, October 1940, February 1942, July 1942, August 1942) archive requests have been placed for missing documents.
